Unit – II: The Indian Banking System
Unit, Branch, Correspondent, Chain, Group, pure, mixed, relationship, narrow, universal, regional, retail, wholesale and private banking system – its advantages and disadvantages.

Unit – III: Social control over banks
Nationalization, criticism and achievements, private sector and indigenous banks, commercial banks and its functions, investment policy of Indian commercial banks, liquidity of banks, SLR calculation, balance sheet of commercial banks, capital structure of banking organisation, various schedule.

Unit – IV: Money and Capital Market of India
Definition and Characteristics, components and sub market, instruments and importance, present day developments.

Unit – V: Recent trends in Indian Banking
Core banking, types of financing, take out financing, revolving credit, ever greening of loan, syndicated loan, bridge loan, consortium finance, preferred finance, guarantee services/ non fund based business, repayment method, factoring, bank net, ATM, phone banking, internet banking.
